Inspirations for Diane

I regularly read the "Sharing Inspiration and Project Photos"
thread on Sewing World.

This thread has not only provided me with renewed enthusiasm for the art of sewing, but also provided an amazing amount of information and knowledge about the craft of sewing. There are some amazing sewists that post pictures there. What I enjoy most is the sense of collegiality and acceptance of all levels of talent -- from emerging to highly tuned. I highly recommend that all who are interested in sewing, check out this thread.

Below are some of the projects that I plan for spring/summer:

I plan to do this pattern: in a lovely blue fleece with black piping. Pockets will be in seam without the inward curve and the collar will be redrafted for a more flattering look on my body.

I love this Oscar de la Renta outfit -- especially the rows of topstitching that bring some interest to the edges although I will need to rethink the pockets. You can really see the detailing on the line drawings so be sure to scroll down. This is a great casual outfit, that looks comfortable without being too casual.

I am going to learn how to post pattern photo and other inspirations instead of having to use the url version. My project for the weekend.

The Robin's Jacket looks fairly straight forward and what I like about it is the adjustments for the bust cup size -- takes a lot of guesswork out of that type of adjustment. I'd be happy to make you one also -- just need to have some key measurements. The pattern instructions suggest measuring a garment that fits you well and then determining from these finished measurements what is the best size. Makes sense.

I saw the Oscar pattern in the Vogue pattern book in a pretty good sized photo -- pockets still look a little prominent -- think I'd like something more subtle -- tummy and hips you know!
